The "Abramoff seven"

via TPM: Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) predicted six Members of the House and a Member of the Senate will go to jail from the Abramoff scandal. Coburn is the worst of the worst in Congress so please consider the source.

However, a little speculation never hurt, right? Burns, DeLay, Ney, and Doolittle are shoo-ins. The rest of the list is less clear.

On the Al Franken Show, Josh Marshall from TPM added Pombo to the list of potential lucky winners of a federal indictment in Abramoff related matters.
After that, I think people that get talked about are Congressman Pombo from California although he's much less certain in my mind, than the other three I mentioned [Ney, DeLay, Doolittle].
From DailyKos diarist jorndorf:

Sen. Conrad Burns (R-MT)
Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX)
Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH)
Rep. John Doolittle (R-CA)
Rep. Charles Taylor (R-NC)
Rep. Don Young (R-AK)
Rep. Richard Pombo (R-CA)

Abe Lincoln said you can fool some of the some of the time but you can't fool all the people all of the time. In this case De Lay and Abramoff as part the Magnificent 7 have screwed everyone. I'm really getting to believe that the whole issue is a smoke screen for something else. The Indian Casino's seem to have all the news attention. If we can tie these people to the expansion of the gambling casino's we may have a way to indict more of them that were on the take.
